Adam Dooley

Adam Dooley

President
Over the past two and a half decades, Adam has developed and executed communications programs for regional, national and North American organizations. As an expert at integrating public relations with advertising and marketing tactics, Adam’s strategies build strong brands and polished corporate images.

He launched Dooley Communications in 2007 after an award winning career as a reporter, editor and corporate communications executive. Under his leadership, Dooley Communications has grown to become the largest PR firm in Manitoba with clients including Ford of Canada, Princess Auto, Cando Rail Services, the Government of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.

He was formerly Vice-President of Marketing and Communications at Cambrian Credit Union, one of the largest financial institutions in the Canadian Prairies. Prior to that, he helped manage communications for Assante Corporation across Canada and the United States.

Adam holds an honours BA in History from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario.

Lisa Bernstein

Senior Communications Manager
Lisa Bernstein is a Senior Communications Manager at Dooley Communications. Her passion and experience in the public relations industry is evident by her enthusiasm, creativity and the thoughtful leadership she brings to her projects and clients.

Throughout her career she has focused on planning, managing and implementing strategic PR campaigns and social media strategies, building strong relationships with media and creating and executing successful events for clients. She has an extensive background working with a variety of clients from non-profit organizations to business and consumer products and services, including Ford Motor Company of Canada.

Lisa also has an in-depth understanding of the ever-evolving new media landscape, staying on top of industry trends and techniques. Her awareness allows for innovative approaches to optimizing local, regional and national visibility and generating relevant media attention for her clients. She has secured high-impact coverage for clients in top tier publications, such as Outdoor Canada, Chatelaine Magazine and The Huffington Post Canada. She also has a high level of experience with cultivating relationships with bloggers. Whether it’s organizing a large-scale event or pitching the newest trend, she works hard to ensure the client’s story is unique and newsworthy.

Lisa graduated from Red River College’s Creative Communications program and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Manitoba.

Janice Tober

Janice Tober

Senior Communications Manager
Janice Tober is a creative communications and marketing professional with over 20 years of expertise. She has specialized skills in journalism and content creation, strategy development, brand management and media relations, with experience working with some of North America’s top companies and brands. As the former Media Relations and Communications Manager at Destination Winnipeg, Janice built relationships with local, national and international media to promote Winnipeg and its products in tourism, meetings and conventions, and economic development sectors. She created and pitched unique story ideas to media that were targeted to individual writers and publications. In just over four years, Janice managed to increase earned media from $1.2 M to over $7.5 M.

Besides her work with organizations such as Investors Group, Tourism Winnipeg/Economic Development Winnipeg, United Way and the University of Manitoba, Janice was a former contributing editor for Condé Nast Traveler’s HotelChatter and has written for a variety of publications and websites including Lonely Planet, NBC Universal/Bravo TV, iExplore, Chatelaine, National Post, Toronto Star and the Vancouver Province.

Janice graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto.

Raegan Hedley

Account Manager
Raegan Hedley is a communications specialist at Dooley Communications. She believes building relationships is the most important part of what she does, and she always aims to integrate PR and advertising as much as possible to create meaningful brand experiences. Before Dooley, Raegan specialized in social media marketing and managed several social accounts day to day delivering curated and original content, creating campaigns from the ground up, and engaging with followers. Her special interest in influencer marketing always allows her to find ways to broaden the reach of any PR efforts.

Raegan also organized the largest Nuit Blanche Winnipeg to date in 2016, building the roster of artists and venues and delivering key messages with marketing and PR efforts. A recent graduate of the University of Winnipeg and Red River College joint Creative Communications program, Raegan brings a fresh outlook and perspective to the Dooley team.

Palvasha Shoaib

Communications Specialist
Palvasha Shoaib is a communications specialist at Dooley Communications. An avid reader, Palvasha is passionate about the potential of the English language, which is what led her to PR and communications. She believes that a balance of truth, tact and timing is essential to her role as a communicator and strives to exemplify those qualities professionally and personally.

Palvasha graduated with a B.A. from Brock University and a postgrad in PR and Communications from Seneca College.

Lauren Parsons

Lauren Parsons

Senior PR Associate/Writer
Curiosity and relationship-building are what help Lauren to tell a good story. She has written for each of Winnipeg’s daily newspapers and worked as a reporter at the Brandon Sun, learning what stories the people of Manitoba’s Westman region had to tell. She is dedicated to mental health advocacy and education and has sat on the board for the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba since 2015. Recently, she has furthered her dedication to the cause by starting a personal mental health and lifestyle blog called Two Season City, to feature the different things, places and people in Winnipeg that make me happy and are working to build a positive, healthy community.

Lauren became a part of the Dooley Communications team in August 2014 as a Communications Specialist, where she expanded her abilities in writing for different audiences across different mediums. Even though she has moved on, we still call on her as a writer and PR and communications advisor on certain projects.

Jenette Westervelt

Jenette Westervelt

Senior PR Associate/Writer
Jenette Westervelt is a versatile and talented communications professional. A skilled writer who goes above and beyond for her clients, she has generated hundreds of media hits across North America, run successful events, led media training seminars, created public relations plans and more. Prior to joining us, Jenette looked after social media platforms for The Winnipeg Foundation, building a robust social media program from the ground up and developing and implementing campaigns that exceeded expectations.

Jenette holds a diploma in Creative Communications from Red River College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Winnipeg. She also worked with Parks Canada where she developed various marketing materials as well as a popular geocaching program.

Krista Lawson

Creative Director - Graphic Design & Branding
Krista is the principal of Black Rook Design. She has more than 10 years of experience in creating solutions that are beautiful, functional and accurately represent the unique needs of our clients. Her focus is on strategy and results-driven design.

The Black Rook team has worked in the arts, health care, aboriginal, private and commercial sectors. By leading design projects for the Talking Stick Festival, Sunova Credit Union, United Way, Winnipeg Health Authority, Manito Ahbee Festival and The Circle, our clients have allowed us to bring new life to each campaign.

Brand management is her specialty. Black Rook creates corporate identities and campaigns for companies of all sizes. We have designed many logos and brands from scratch, but work just as well with established brands and visual identity guidelines.

Stefanie Cutrona

Stefanie Cutrona is Owner and Consultant at Candid Media, an international digital marketing agency servicing clients across the globe including Winnipeg & Toronto and across the pond in Ireland. Specializing in content creation, social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, display (programmatic) advertising, digital strategy and analytics & reporting, Stefanie draws on her 5 years professional experience planning and executing highly effective marketing campaigns in both the B2B and B2C worlds to deliver measurable results for our clients, with a relentless focus on ROI.

Stefanie is a Certified Google Partner and a graduate of Red River College’s Creative Communications program (Advertising – 2014).

Ryan Santschi

Full-Stack Developer
Ryan Santschi is the owner/operator of Interplay Design that specializes in high-performance websites powered by WordPress. A full-stack developer that is passionate about building digital solutions that are scalable and easy to use, Ryan spends his time, joyfully, going over every detail of how to increase your website’s effectiveness, accessibility, site speed, and security. Ryan is a friendly and experienced communicator who is committed to educating people on responsible site development.
As an organizer of the WordPress Winnipeg meetup, Ryan spends his time contributing to the project that powers 30% of the internet. There Ryan comfortably talks on topics ranging from “how-to’s” for beginners to “Optimizing Server-side Cache” for experts. In 2016 and 2015 Ryan organized the Winnipeg WordCamp, a WordPress conference, that has two tracks for both users and developers. Ryan loves the open-source world where he continually has the opportunity to both learn and teach.
